Design notes

A fire door lining forms part of the overall fire door frame. To comply with fire regulations all fire doors must be fitted with an appropriate lining along with an intumescent strip.

Door linings are usually supplied as part of an internal frame set typically suitable for any type of room including kitchens and bathrooms. A set usually contains the head, jambs and sill of the frame and sometimes comes with timber stops provided loose.

Complete the look with door casings or mouldings. These hide gaps around internal door linings and add a decorative look to a doorway.

About your trenched fire door lining

What makes these CLIMADOOR linings unique? With three coats of primer applied there’s zero prep work required. They also feature clear pine facings which means no knots to fill. In addition, this type of door lining is quicker to assemble. 

There are grooves in the head of the frame into which the jambs can be inserted. This sets the size to match up with fire door sizes (with the appropriate door clearances). Ideal for reducing hassle when installing your fire doors or door linings.

Trenched linings mean fast installation and less time woodworking, allowing you to install internal doors while providing a casing to remove the gap between the frame and the wall. Ideal for reducing costs during professional projects and renovations.
