    Internal Heritage Doors

Bring the chic industrial look to your home decor with our range of internal steel-look doors. Designed with the iconic traditional style of Crittal doors in mind, industrial style internal doors are crafted from solid timber with a smooth black finish and toughened safety glass. That means you level up your internal doors with the bold industrial feel without the heavy weight (or hefty price tag) of real steel doors.

    Choose from:

    • Single Heritage Doors – perfect for upgrading a standard doorway with a steel-look twist. Fire door options are also available as part of our industrial style internal doors range.
    • Heritage French Doors – double doors that open wide, ideal for dining rooms, lounges or as a chic home office partition. They’re also available as a solid door variant – which are perfect for walk-in wardrobes and where you need to step up the privacy of a space.
    • Heritage Bifold Doors – combining modern function and solid wood construction with heritage design for wider openings, industrial look bifold doors fold neatly to the side, giving you flexibility to open up or close off spaces while letting natural light flow in abundance. With different bifold styles on offer, including the ever popular Frenchfold, you’re bound to find something to suit in our range.

Whether you’re going for a sexy New York loft feel or simply want to brighten up a darker room, internal heritage doors are a simple, stylish upgrade.

    Heritage Doors FAQs

What is a heritage style door?

Heritage doors are designed in the steel look Crittall style, featuring slim black frames and large glass panels arranged in a grid to really maximise the amount of light in a building, they would typically be found on warehouses and factories at the turn of the 20th century.

A quintessentially British feature, they bring industrial character and lots of natural light into homes without the cost, weight or upkeep needed for traditional steel doors.

Are heritage doors suitable for modern homes?

Absolutely. While inspired by the early 20th-century design of large steel framed windows, they look just as good in contemporary spaces as they do in period properties. Think minimalist interiors, extensions or loft-style apartments, heritage doors suit them all.

Can I get made-to-measure heritage doors?

Yes, absolutely! We fully understand that not every home is the same, that’s why many of our heritage bifold and French doors, whether internal or external, are available in bespoke sizes to perfectly fit your needs. Just get in touch with our team for a quote.

Do heritage doors only come in black?

Black is the most iconic choice for industrial style doors, it’s bold, versatile and perfect for creating that authentic steel-look frame. But it’s not the only option. Many of our aluminium heritage doors are also available in anthracite grey, which gives a softer, more contemporary look that works beautifully with modern extensions or Scandi-inspired interiors.

On top of that, some of the external industrial style doors in our range can be supplied in custom RAL colours, so you can match frames to your existing windows, your interior design scheme or even the rest of your external doors. So whether you want the classic black grid or something more bespoke and daring, there’s flexibility in our extensive range to perfectly suit your style. Just give us a call to discuss your design ideas.

Do heritage doors need much maintenance?

Maintenance is refreshingly simple. Internal heritage style doors (usually engineered timber with a black finish) like any internal door just need regular dusting and the occasional wipe with a damp cloth to keep the glass and frames looking sharp. After the initial topcoating, their hardwearing finish means there should be no need for regular sanding, painting or staining. Periodic tightening and lubrication of hardware, and touching up any chipped paint should mean they look their best for many years.

For industrial style external doors, the powder-coated finish means they won’t rust, flake or peel. Naturally corrosion resistant, a gentle clean with warm soapy water every few months and a clean out of the tracks is enough to wash away grime and keep them looking new and working smoothly. In coastal or urban areas where salt and pollution can build up, a monthly rinse is recommended. No specialist products or frequent repainting required – just quick, low-effort care.

    Are industrial style doors secure?

Yes! Despite their slim thermally broken aluminium frames, industrial style exterior doors are built with security in mind. Steel look aluminium doors come with modern multi-point locking systems as standard, which secure the door at several points along the frame. Combined with low-E toughened safety glass to reduce heat loss, internal beading and robust aluminium construction with thermal breaks, they’re as safe and efficient as any other high-quality patio door.

For internal use, heritage doors don’t typically need locks, but you can add privacy handles or latches if required. The toughened glazing also makes them a safe choice for busy family homes, as it’s designed to crumble rather than shard if ever broken.
