Door Handles

The handles you see here come in two different materials – there are chrome ones, and the more traditional brass variety.  You’ll also have a choice of different finishes – including satin, polish, mixed – and no finish at all, for instances where you’d prefer to apply your own.

Your choice of material will depend to a large extent on the surrounding room.  If you’re shopping for a door handle for your Victorian-style external door, then you might find that a brass handle that’s modelled after the period might make a better match than a more contemporary chrome one.  If, on the other hand, you’re shopping for a handles for your modern internal doors, then a chrome handle might fit the bill admirably.

As well as considering the look of the surrounding décor, we should also be sure to remember the function that we’ll want to handle to perform.  For example, if you’re shopping for a room where privacy is desirable or essential, like a bathroom or guest bedroom, then you should be sure to select a handle that comes equipped with a bathroom lock, so that it can be locked from the inside.  Of course, if you’re shopping for an exterior door, you might want a handle that comes equipped with a keyhole – so be sure that you pick one!
