Solid oak doors have always been a popular choice with customers, and this doesn’t look to change any time soon. The warmth of an internal oak door's natural wood grain combined with the natural insulation and noise muffling properties of oak make them a great addition to every home. Available in a range of traditional and contemporary designs, there’s an oak door to suit every look.
Why choose a solid oak door?
Solid oaks doors have a timeless appeal and the flexibility of material means you can always find an oak door in a style to suit your home. Solid oak doors are especially popular because of their natural insulation and sound barrier which is perfect for family homes or noisy kitchens.
Doors such as our Oak Trent door gives a traditional look with its raised panels that fits in just as well in a modern apartment as it does a period timehouse or country kitchen.
For those looking for a more contemporary aesthetic, our light grey Corsica door is a perfect option. This style has become increasingly popular for its clean design and because it's prefinished, it’s available to hang upon delivery.
Oak doors remain popular for their versatility of design and high-quality finish.
What finishes of internal solid oak doors are available?
Our range of solid oak internal doors offer finished and unfinished variations.
Pre-finished internal doors mean they have been completely finished before being delivered, whether this is painted, waxed or stained, and are ready to hang upon delivery. Buying a prefinished door is a more convenient option and ensures your door will have a uniform finish.
An unfinished door is the ideal choice for those who want to add their own mark before hanging their door. Unfinished doors will not have any finish on them so they’re ready for you to add your own paint, stain or wax. If you have a particular wood stain throughout your home you want to match, or just fancy getting creative, this is the best choice for you.
Additional safety features
We spend hours looking up the safety features of external doors, making sure it has the right kind of lock and is sturdy enough to keep our home secure. But, safety is just as important with an internal door.
Some commercial buildings legally require the use of fire doors and it is recommended to use a fire door between the kitchen and other rooms, including the garage. If this is something you want to consider many of our doors are available as 44m thick FD30 rated fire doors. An FD30 rated door means it will suppress the spread of fire and smoke for a minimum of thirty minutes.
Examples of our fire safety doors include the prefinished Arcos door or the more traditionally styled 4 panel oak internal door.
