Oak External Folding Sliding Doors

From floors and furniture to windows and doors; oak is one of the most popular materials used around the home. Here at Doors and More, we love using sustainably sourced oak for our external folding sliding doors. It’s an attractive, hardy, wood which stands the test of time both in terms of aesthetics, and functionality.

Not only is it hard-wearing, but it also looks great and, despite what you might think, doesn’t cost the earth.

On this page, you’ll find a  hand-picked selection of external oak folding and sliding doors. Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Be sure to have a look at our range of aluminium external folding sliding doors, too!

Solid oak doors, naturally, tend to be more expensive than their counterparts. After all, it’s necessary to wait for the trees to grow to harvest them sustainably. There’s a way of offsetting this problem, however, and that’s through the creation of engineered doors, which are comprised by a core of many varied materials, packaged inside a veneer of high-quality oak.

This allows the door to maintain the attractive aesthetic qualities of oak while still being affordable. This design provides another advantage, particularly for exterior doors: it helps to eliminate warping. This effect occurs when the fibres of a piece of timber expand and contract in response to changes in local climate. Over time, this effect can cause the door to change shape – and if it’s an external door, this can lead to draughts forming. An engineered door counteracts this effect – each piece of timber is tethered to its neighbour, and so is better able to hold its shape over time.

Oak is a famously attractive and durable timber, and it’s sure to look the part outside your home. Take a look at the external folding sliding doors doors we have to offer, and you’re sure to find something that matches your preferences!
