White oak, or Quercus Alba, is a paler sort of oak found throughout the eastern half of the United States. It’s one of the most desirable types of timber, thanks to its pleasing balance between good looks and longevity. Veneered oak offers all of the aesthetic advantages of a solid oak door, with the functional advantages of an engineered core. By packaging different lengths of wood together in a thin layer of white oak, it’s possible to create a door that’s more resistant to warping which ensures that your door has a substantial feel to it and will continue to be draught-resistant long in to the future.

Veneered doors become popular during the Second World War, when oak was in short supply, but it remains popular even today. If you’d like the distinctive good looks of oak, but without the hefty price tag attached to a traditional solid wood door, then our white oak veneered doors might just be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Despite the smaller price tag attached to a veneered door, they often have a more attractive finish than their solid equivalents. When veneer doors are made, the manufacturers are able to use the very best cuts of timber to create their doors. By having the option to configure the veneer as they desire, the options are endless; more doors can be created with less waste.
